Does Home Insurance cover flooding?

Most homeowners policies do not cover flood insurance, which is usually written by the National Flood Insurance Program.

If you choose to purchase replacement cost coverage for your policy and your home is damaged by an covered loss, the settlement reflects the cost to replace the damaged property with new property of similar quality, without deduction for depreciation.  It's also subject to policy exclusions and conditions.

What is Actual Cash Value?

Actual cash value (ACV) is the amount to replace your damaged or stolen property, minus depreciation at the time of the loss.
