If you live in South Louisiana and own a home, chances are you have a Homeowners insurance policy with a Hurricane / Named Storm Deductible. What exactly is that?
In most cases, it’s a percentage based on your dwelling coverage.
Example:
Your dwelling coverage is $200,000 and your Hurricane /Named Storm deductible is 5%
$200,000 x 5% = $10,000
This means if you have a claim for a Hurricane or Named Storm, you will be responsible for the first $10,000 of damage.
How do I find my Hurricane or Named Storm deductible?
